How would you handle this situation?

Hey everyone, I moved back to school into an apartment with two roommates this past week. I brought Adonis and one of my roommates brought her $#@!er Spaniel mix, Annie. Adonis has been great, adjusting amazingly actually. He's doing great with my roommates, he's practically in love with Annie's owner. He met my boyfriend who's 6'4" and normally anyone over 5'5" would scare the crap out of him and he'd go into "stay the hell away from me" mode, but in 10 minutes time he was allowing him to touch him. Adonis has been making huge strides with his fears lately and I'm super proud of him.

Well the problem came once we introduced Adonis and Annie, both on leash. Adonis was very polite, staying next to me and sniffing in her direction without getting in her space. I could tell she wasn't comfortable so I removed him before she tried to bite. My roommate went home and took her along for about a week so Adonis got to play only child for a little bit. He's used to having my father's/my dog Adore to play with at all times so he was obviously bored and lonely.

When my roommate came back, I was hoping she'd bring one of her other less hostile dogs but she brought Annie again. Well we tried another introduction and again Adonis was trying to be polite but Annie wanted none of it, growling and baring her teeth at him. Well Adonis fell in love with my roommate, Annie's owner, and the feeling was apparently mutual. He's been drooling over her all week and whenever he gets close to her Annie growls. It's gotten to the point where Annie has physically charged him twice and made contact once (didn't break skin, but scared the $#@! out of Adonis and everyone else in the room).

He now stays far away from her and only plays with my roommate if Annie is asleep or not within biting distance. I've been keeping Adonis on his leash in the house in case Annie acts up, which isn't fair at all since she's the aggressor but he's so much bigger if he reacts to her she could get hurt. I'm trying to be responsible here, I keep him locked I'm my room when we aren't home, I don't let him near her when she's off leash (all the time up until she made contact) and I watch them like a hawk when they're close. I don't know what I should do other than that. I feel like if anything happens it'll be my fault, they'll automatically blame Adonis for hurting Annie since she's so small. I don't think he'd hurt her, he mostly just runs away, but no one does until it happens. I guess I just want to know the thoughts of some more experienced owners and maybe a bit of reassurance that I'm doing everything that can be done right now.

By the way Adonis will be one year old in September and for a neutered rescue mutt he's starting to fill out nicely :)
