Best brush?

I tried my former dog's wire slicker brush... didn't seem to do much. I read that you should use a bristle brush on a short-haired dog. Seems bristle brushes have gone out of vogue and aren't easy to find. "Furmanator" brushes have conflicting info on their packaging for which sort of brush to use for a short-haired dog. I finally found a bristle brush and it does pick up some loose hair... but not much.



Since I got fantastic info here on nail cutters, I thought I would inquire about a good brush.
