Is there really NO chew toy that we can use?

Well, at 7 months I am discovering there is seemingly no chew type toy we can use. I am looking for something that I don't have to stuff with food (i.e. Kong) and and I am looking for something he can play with while in the house. I have some of boogieman's antlers and he is mildly interested. I ordered a PrideBites, advertised to have tough rip stop material, it lasted literally less than 2 minutes ($10). Bought some sort of a heavy material Kong toy ($14) it lasted about 15 minutes. Bought a Kong Large, Extreme, made of "toughest natural rubber" Kong Flyer ($15) last night. It lasted about an hour. I bought a larger sized "jumbler ball" which is a soft type ball with another ball inside. It squeeks so I thought he'd love it. He shows little interest. I've got the larger sized Kong tennis type balls and they last pretty well but he wants somebody to throw them all the time and I need some things for him to entertain himself with during the day. I work from home so I can supervise but when I'm on conference calls I need him to entertain himself for a few minutes. Plus I really need to work for a few hours sometimes!

I am considering trying to get a used bicycle tire today although to bring it in the house would mean I'd need to cut it into 3 or 4 pieces. I considered buying him a pair of Croc shoes. He loves the garden hose so I've thought about buying him the commercial grade reinforced rubber garden hose and cutting him some pieces. I thought about a pair of rubber boots.

Anybody tried tires, crocs, rubber boots, a garden hose? You all are probably laughing at the idea of rubber boots or crocs! I am desperate!

And yes, he could use more exercise (he's got a spring pole and 20# water filled tug toy in the back yard and we walk him daily and play fetch with him a few times a day and sometimes have him swim in our pool). Kind of wishing for a treadmill. I am simply looking for STRONG indoor toys.
