Discover Responds to “Boycott HSUS” Campaign

After we launched BoycottHSUS.com on Monday targeting Discover for its affinity card that financially benefits the deceptive Humane Society of the United States, we received an email from Discover vice president Kevin O’Donnell. Here’s what he said:

Discover respects that its cardmembers have different opinions and interests, and recognizes their right to choose the organizations that they wish to support. In the relationship between The Humane Society of the United States and Discover, The Humane Society of the United States* benefits only from cardmembers who choose to carry that particular card. We can $#@!ure you that we regularly evaluate our business relationships and monitor public sentiment toward their operations.

We appreciate your feedback and will share it with our management who operate that line of business.

That’s a long-winded way of saying “We don’t care—at least, not until enough people complain.” So show Discover that you do care: Sign the petition at BoycottHSUS.com and make your voice heard to company execs.
