Ears cold to the touch

vendredi 21 novembre 2014

Howdy, everyone. Okay so this may sound like a stupid question but it's been going on for a while so I figured I'd ask. As of the past month or so Adonis' ears have been going from extremely hot to really cold. All while we're just sitting in the house, not doing anything. I'll feel his temp under his arm (I don't have a rectal thermometer to use) and it's never as hot or cold as his ears. He's also been shaking his head a lot recently too, similar to the way you shake your hand around when it's fallen asleep. His ears get really red when they're hot, but when they're cold they get pale then start getting a bluish hint to them, especially in the little side flap part. I just was wondering if anyone knows what it could be or have experienced it with their dogs. It started a while before it got cold so I don't think it's the weather, besides we don't do much outside lately. I plan to take him to my job next week when I'm home, so no need to start with the "take him to the vet" comments, I'm not nearly as dumb as I sound. I just want to have something to start the visit with so my boss doesn't have to start at point A with a bunch of irrelevant stuff. I may be overreacting but I don't want to wait until it becomes something to really worry about.

I tried to get pictures but he won't sit still for me to get a hold of his ears.
