Puppy broke her tooth

jeudi 27 novembre 2014

Hello, I'm new here. I found this site looking for some answers.

I recently rescued a thirteen week old pit bull puppy, and she came to me with a chipped canine. I really didn't worry much because it didn't bother her to eat or play, and when I touched it she never reacted.

A friend of mine had the same problem with a puppy a year ago, and Leo, as he is called, ended up losing the tooth and growing a new one without infection, although it was discolored before it fell out.

Well, my little Echo still doesn't seem to be in any discomfort, but, as I just noticed, her tooth looks bluish or greenish, depending on if you ask me or my fiance.

We are both really worried. We took her in not anticipating any problems, and unfortunately because of the holiday season, have limited funds. Our puppy will get the care she needs regardless, but it's just a sad way to spend the holidays. We really do love this little pup.

What I'm curious is this, is her tooth infected? If so then it is very important she gets to the vet asap. If not, could she hold out until she loses it? How long would that be? I would hate to cause her pain just for the sake of money.

Thank you for reading! Help is much appreciated.
