We have a four month old pit mix. He is a very well behaved little boy overall and seems to be catching on to his training pretty good. He has never showed food aggression before with either or other dog or people. Today I made some chicken salad and put the can from the chicken in the trash. I came downstairs to flip the laundry. I ran upstairs when I heard the dog bark and then my 4 year old daughter scream. Apparently, according to her, our pup came into the living room with the can from the chicken. She knew it was trash so she went to take it from him and he barked and then bit her. What is the appropriate thing to do here? How do I work on training him that this is not ok?
How to handle what I think would be classified as food aggression?
