It's that time again. Post away. Be sure to read the rules.

Post your pictures of those handsome boys that are 12 months of age or older!



Each winner of the Male of the Month photo contest will be featured on the pitbull-chat.com homepage with a bio and pic of the winning dog! The winner will also receive a one year premium membership, and a spot in the picture rotation in the upper left corner. (picture must meet certain qualifications)

Monthly Contest Rules


PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Each member is only allowed to enter one picture per month, of one dog. If you submit additional pictures, they will be promptly removed.



The dog pictured must be owned by you, if the dog is deceased, it must have died under your ownership.



All pictures submitted can be posted from the gallery on this site, or posted from a web based photo hosting site such as photobucket.com or FLICKR. For directions and examples of how to accomplish a successful picture post in this contest...

DO NOT POST PICTURES AS ATTACHMENTS

You are not allowed to enter a dog in the monthly contests until you have made at least 50 posts and have been registered for 30 days or more.



If your dog wins a monthly contest the same picture can not be used again. The same dog can be entered in later contests, but it must be a different picture. Otherwise you may submit the same picture of a given dog each month until it wins.



If you post a picture that violates these rules, it will be subject to immediate removal and will require resubmission, conforming to these rules, to be included in the contest.

About Contest:



There will be a monthly contest held for the best picture of a male dog owned by a member of pitbull-chat.com. Submissions will be of a male dog 12 months of age and older, of any breed and posed in any way. They CAN NOT be wearing any costumes, hats, etc. with the exception of any type of service/working vests, and any type of harness. Besides those exceptions the dog can only be wearing a collar as to not conflict with our “themed” photo contest. The contest will be judged on the quality/creativity of the picture, and the overall health state and look of the dog.



Every picture that is submitted and falls within the above rules will be eligible to be voted on as a winner.



You will have 2 weeks to submit your pictures.


Nominations will be opened for 1 week to pick the top 10 candidates. If there are less than 10 entries in the first 2 weeks, additional submitting will be allowed for the 3rd week until 10 entries are submitted. Members submitting a nomination post must list ten dogs in order for their nomination to be eligible!



A poll will be set up for the 4th week along with the top 10 pictures and voting will continue through the end of the month.



The winner will be announced the first week of the following month.



If, in a contest, there is a tie between two or more dogs, there will be a 24 hour tie-breaker voted on by members. If there is still a tie, there will be an additional 24 hour tie-breaker voted on by staff members, and if a decision still can not be made, the first available administrator will decide the winner.



Each entry should name the owner (their pitbull-chat.com screen name) the dog’s name and age. For example, a reply should read…



kady05's Piper @ 12 months (Your username) (the Dog’s Name) (the Dog’s Age)

Also please refrain from posting replies such as “nice dog,” “I love/vote for this one,” or “great pic” in this thread. These types of replies will be removed.

My dog is half blue blood half red blood

I could have punched the person who insisted his dog is half blue blood, half red blood.



I work as a bar lady on weekends, and during the day my boyfriend will pop in and bring Tyson to see me, and all the locals (we have been taking him there since 6 weeks old, and everyone has a soft spot for him)… And so this gentleman sees him and asks “is he a blue blood or red blood?” – in my mind my sarcasm kicks in thinking well he’s red blood, like all dam animals / people you find blood generally is red.I tried in the most polite way to ask him what he meant, if he was asking what bloodline my dog was, to which I said he is not registered but it was either his father / grandfather that I was told had bolio / eli bloodlines. He insists there is no such thing, and that pitbulls are either blue or red blood, and then proceeded to tell me I must breed my mutt to a staffy to get the right kind of puppies. I could not get it into his head that he was wrong. Was just curious as to how you deal with total idiots who are blatantly wrong but insist they aren’t? Anyone got any stories? Stupidest things you’ve heard said?



Oh and not to mention – he believes the blue blooded dogs to be more game and used for fighting where as the red is more laid back and only used to hunt. WTF…. He also showed me pics. No ways is his dog a pitbull, it weighs close on 40 kg and looks more like an American bulldog mix, than an American pitbull terrier. But this said he also believes you get more than one TYPE of pitbull.













Just actually get really frustrated with such stupidity. I am very far from being an expert but I mean come on, this is just too much!

New pit momma!

Hi everyone! I just got my first pit Friday and I am very excited. I don't know anyone with pits and stumbled on this forum when I was online and decided I should check it out. I do have some concerns they gave her away at only 4 weeks old and aside from replacer milk didn't know if there was anything else I should be looking out for?
