FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- One person has been arrested after police uncovered an alleged dog-fighting ring in south Fulton County Friday morning.
The discovery came after Fulton County Animal Control received an anonymous tip. Fulton County police responded to the wooded area, which is located at 3029 Demooney Road.
According to authorities, 15 dogs, some of which were injured, were discovered tied to trees about 200 feet from the house. Paraphernalia that indicates possible dog fighting was also located.
Many had significant scars, police said.
The owners of the ring could face multiple charges, including cruelty to animals.
The dogs were brought to Fulton County Animal Services.
Three people were taken into custody, and one of those people had been arrested late Friday. Investigators said 33-year-old Jason Keith is charged with 14 counts of animal cruelty as well as illegal tethering to an animal.
