Hello I'm a first time dog owner and I'm in love with my little pup! He is 12 weeks old and he is a bundle of joy. I wanna have him potty trained and I have been hearing that crate training is a good way to accomplish this. The only thing is that he completely hates being there and right after I close the gate he starts crying and whimpering like there's no tomorrow. I know dogs don't like crates, but I feel as if he's being over the top. Is there another way I can train him? Or should I keep on using this method. Also when I leave the house for long peroids at a time should I also keep him in the crate?
