Hello everyone my name is Mike and I have a 7 week old pitbull/boxer mix puppy. I know that is younger than most people recommend for taking a puppy home, but I don't believe I was harming anything by taking her out of the home she came from. She had fleas and worms when I got her, and the owners wouldn't let her nurse from her mom anymore after 4 weeks. They also docked her tail because apparently " you don't want a puppy with a tail anyway" The vet says she is healthy now though and very cute and happy.
I am working with her on house training, although it is hard with the norther New York blizzards going on right now. We also practice "sit" and "down" a couple times a day and she is picking it up rather quickly considering her age. We still have a long way to go but I am being patient because I know she is very young.
I am am glad to be a part of a new community and I hope to learn a lot about food and feeding, training and obedience, and stopping that awful puppy biting. I have so many questions and can't wait to get some answers.
