Falling "Hair Showers"

My 10-month old Amstaff has been on very good quality, grain free food his whole life, using different brands and moving up to increasingly better brands. He has been on Orijen now for at least 3 months. His coat has definitely gotten shinier and softer but his hair still falls out in a "hair shower" every time we pet him. You can literally just pet him and with every pat hair just showers down. He gets bathed about every 1 1/2 weeks and brushed about 3 times a week. I give him a fish oil capsule every day. He gets about a tablespoon of coconut oil nearly every day (I feed it in a frozen treat ball). I had him tested for food allergies and he basically has almost none--only 2 foods of moderate reactivity is to rice and turkey and the food he has been on for months doesn't have either one.



He does not itch or have any skin issues since last summer/early fall when he had some bacterial infections and then 1 round of a staph infection. He is on regular flea medication and I never see any fleas on him or see him scratching like he is chasing a flea.



Any suggestions?
