A couple of months ago, our Pitbull, Coco, passed away. Never having buried a dog and being overwhelmed with emotions, my husband and I made some mistakes when burying her in the back yard. We wrapped her in a sheet instead of putting her in a plastic bag and when we put her in the ground we did not go deep enough. These are all things we have learned since then. Now, to make it worse our other two dogs are attempting to dig her up. I don't know what to do! We have packed down the dirt on her grave and have even covered it with pavers and a very heavy concrete birdbath. We thought this would keep them from digging and would be a nice memorial to our sweet girl. This has not deterred our youngest dog at all. He is determined to unearth her even trying to move the pavers. We don't let him out without supervising him but this is leading to other problems. He now has accidents in the house that he wasn't having before. We have to somehow "fix" the grave so that he isn't tempted to dig and can spend more time out there.
We are heartbroken about losing Coco. There are no words to express our sadness and now it seems like we are caught in a neverending nightmare. Please help.
