Two policemen responding to a domestic disturbance call went to the wrong house, knocked on a man's door at five in the morning. The man's dog accompanied him as he went to answer the door, barking at the that unexpected visitors. When the man opened the door, one of the officers actually pet the dog, which was displaying no signs of aggression. When the dog walked toward the second officer, the policeman drew his gun and shot the dog dead.
