The tips of Rocko's ears split and bleed often, always after shaking.
He's not shaking from ear issues. Just from normal dog things like after a bath or after rolling around, etc.
The only way to stop his ears from bleeding is to put a stretched out sock over his head with his ears flipped back so they don't become infected for a week to stop his ears from flapping against his head when he shakes and to give them time to heal. Nylon or a cone didn't work for $#@!.
We no longer want to do this. What are our options?
-Full on show crop his ears (even though one is pretty floppy and he's 7yrs old) and hope they look and stand correctly?
-Or just trim some of the ends of his ears off (not worry about them needing to stand) and hope it is enough to stop the flapping against his head when he shakes?
