I understand that when a new puppy comes into the household with all of its energy and no manners, an older dog may get annoyed or have to teach the puppy some lessons to being a mannered dog.
My puppy has a lot of energy and jumps on my older dog's face and nips at his ears. My older dog reacts by giving him growl sounds at first to warn him but if puppy persists he will do a quick turn and snarl but he hasn't ever hurt the puppy. My older dog is an 8 year old lab/poodle cross and he is very well behaved and has never shown any signs of aggression growing up which is why I believe he is simply teaching puppy some manners.
Should I continue to let him learn how to properly behave through these teachings or should I keep them separated for now?
