Hi all! First time pit bull owner! She is a blue pit, seven months old, and possibly the sweetest dog I've ever met. Her name is Laila (going for different spelling)
Here's her story that we found out through animal control after she came walking up our driveway...
Two months ago about two miles through the woods behind us there was a drug raid. The house had a number of pits including a mother and several puppies. When the flash grenades went off, the dogs scattered into the woods. Animal control caught all of them since except for our Laila. She came up our driveway this afternoon to socialize.
We called animal control to come pick her up because we didn't think we could take another fur friend. While we were waiting for animal control to arrive, she won us over with her sweet personality and intelligence. An amazing dog. One soulful look from her begging to be loved and we were sold.
When animal control arrived, it was then we learned of her history through her siblings that had already been caught. We asked if we could keep her, and we got a resounding yes...the fewer of these poor babies that had to go to the shelter and would stay out of the hands of the horrible owners they came from (some are still out due to lack of evidence), the better.
You can see how sweet and playful she is in the pics with our daughter.
Right now she's asleep...and has been asleep since her bath an hour ago. She's had a rough life before today.
