According to Friday's NBC New York News, a malnourished pit bull puppy was discovered inside of a suitcase which was left at a housing development in the Bronx, New York.
Just after noon on Thursday, police were alerted by a passerby to the frail pup who was left in a suitcase at a dumpster outside of the Melrose Housing Development. The skeletal pit bull is estimated to be approximately one year of age - he was taken to the local ASPCA for care.
The authorities are hoping for leads in this case of animal cruelty - anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
