ok so I have experience with APBT for about a decade now. I have a half sister that has no experience with them at all. She used to be the stereotypical idiot that knew nothing about them and would preach to me about how their horrible dogs and attack ppl etc. and was absolutely terrified of my dogs. you know the type of ppl that think they know everything, despite never owning one, being around them, reading a book, or doing anything to educate themselves beyond catching a news story. so time fast fwd and somehow she ends up rescuing a small pitbull mix, mixed with some sort of terrier. She thinks the dogs is full staffordshire terrier, which it obviously isnt. Well anyways the dog is a good dog, is friendly, good with other dogs etc. So now her view of pitbulls has changed, which is a great thing. The problem is now she thinks all pitbulls are like hers! I have tried to explain to her that they are great dogs, but they are dog aggressive and there is certain precaustions you must take etc. Well she is stubborn and hard headed and wont take any advice from me, simply because its coming from me. Anyways, now she wants to be the pitbull rescuing superhero and save and foster all kinds of dogs, more great news.....However she thinks she is going to get a bunch of pitbulls, and let them run around her yard and house with bones and dog food out etc and everyone is going to play nice!!! SoOoO i just found out she got a new dog, hes more of an american bully style dog. older about 5, great dog, friendly and gentle, gets along with her other dog, shes hard headed and wouldnt listen to me about the bones and dog food, but they didnt fight over the bones and dog food, he only growled. which is another great thing and goes to show just how good of a dog this dog is. and so this now brings me to my original point of the post. She has 3 cats, this woman adopted a pitbull expecting it to get along with her cats!!! and when the dog went after her cats she was shocked........its like no SH*T your pitbull doesnt like cats lady. So now she is going to give the dog 2 months to get along with the cats and if it doesnt, which we all know 99.99% chance it wont, she is going to return it to the shelter. and its just like wow. you want to be the pitbull saving superhero, but its people like you that are the exact reason why there are so many pitbulls in shelters. She is totally contradicting herself. if the dog gets in a fight or doesnt get along with her cats she is going to return it to the shelter. could you imagine if you worked at the shelter and a woman brought you a pitbull back saying.........im returning it because it doesnt get along with cats?!?!?!?! :lol::lol::lol:
