My first six year old female pit rescue (2009), Lilith, is aggressive toward a little red nose, Freya, that showed up at my doorstep 3 weeks ago. I have tried showing both equal amounts of attention, keeping a peaceful environment, having separate feeding areas and engaging in close monitoring of interactions. Without warning or provocation, after 10 days, my first pit attacked her. I am considering muzzling Lilith as Freya is not aggressive at all, rehoming Freya, and tearing my hair out. Any experience in this?
