First I want to say BK has a vet appointment next Tuesday..Thats as soon as I can get him in..BUT
I dont think this is an Emergency thing..But just want to hear some opinions..While I dont want to hit the ER vet. I will.
Yesterday evening he is laying at my feet and I notice he is chewing..I told him bring it..He stood up and is continuing to "chew" I say "Not yours" (his command for drop it) he keeps "chewing" I check his mouth..Nothing in there. Lays back down, Starts to "chew" again. There is nothing in his mouth..But it is a full on chew, Just a little bit of excess slobber..But not a whole lot.
I inspect more..I cant see anything wrong with his teeth or his gums..look as far down his throat as I can..I dont see anything out of the norm.
So I thought maybe upset tummy..maybe it was nausea. He's had nothing different in his diet...and he never did vomit. Stool was fine this morning.
He stopped and seemed fine..Then about 2am He wakes me up doing it. I check his mouth..nothing there..He was a lil ansty for a few minutes..But thats usually normal If we break routine when I got up to get him water
(he went to the bathroom where I usually go first..I went to kitchen..lol)
he paced for a min and I coaxed him into drinking some water which also makes him a lil antsy when I do that..But then he seemed fine..other then the "chewing" Got back in bed..he "chewed" a lil more snuggled up and went to sleep.
So far today..There has been no chewing yet. But of course I know he will wait until the Vet is closed and start it up! Its something I have never any of my dogs do..or any dog for that matter. I honestly dont think he has any pain..at least not bad enough to display where I can tell.
Seems to be acting normal..Not sluggish..but I did get in the door today before he came to greet me..Usually he hears my car pull in and at the door waiting on me. But again thats not completely unheard of either.
Just wondered if anyone heard of this before or had any ideas. Maybe I am missing something?
