Hello to all! (From the Bluegr$#@! state.... Kentucky) I am a BIG lover of APBT's I was hooked back in 1983 when my husband bought me a male APBT puppy. At that time I wasn't too sure if that was the type of dog that I wanted. At that time I had a doberman that I had rescued from a man that had 2 dogs and would only put one bowl of food out and make them fight for what little food was provided. We lived out in the country and everyone allowed their dogs to run free. My dog was neutered. A neighbor had a female that was NOT spayed and when she was in heat (which seemed all the time) there were strings of male dogs following her. I had seen them literally kill one little dog and rip him into. Needless to say they traveled all over the place and would come to my house. My poor dog would try to hide from them and was usually successful most of the time but his butt would be sticking out and they would literally chew his butt up. I took him to our vet twice and got tired of it. So my husband said he knew a man that he worked with that raised Pit Bull puppies. So to make a longer story short we got one. He was awesome. I couldn't get over how smart he was. He was the best behaved dog. Even as a puppy he was great. Needless to say the neighborhood was totally different after we got "Buddy". Anyway it's great to be here. And I hope to learn more and if I can add any info I hope to help someone else.
