Information about intestinal blockage

What do I need to watch for to know if it's going to "p$#@!"? I am not aware of anything my pup ate yesterday that could have caused a problem however he does chew on those string tug toys and gets the strings in his mouth and the day before and on other days he will get some of the stuffing from stuffed toys. I get it away from him as soon as I see it and run my fingers through his mouth to remove any he has in it. And throw the stuff toy away and throw the string toy away if it's getting to ratty. I usually cut off any long strings and let him play with it awhile longer.

He never gets us up at night and last night he got us up to poop (I didn't know at the time to watch and inspect it), then later in the night he vomited and it had something firm in it, and then he got up a third time at close to our regular time and has had a very small amount of waterery diarreha 4 or 5 times. He acts like he feels just fine so from that perspective, I see nothing wrong.

Advice please.
