So my three year old GSD has always always loved other dogs. Two days ago I brought home an eight week old APBT puppy. He isn't showing total aggression to her and he'll walk up and sniff her but the second she turns to smell him he runs. She plays fine with my 1 1/2 year old chihuahua but once they start playing my GSD will come over and nip at the back of her neck. He hasn't done it hard enough to even make her yelp but regardless it's not a behavior I'm going to allow to continue. He was resource guarding a ball earlier and has now lost all toys as well as his ability to free feed, both older dogs are excellent at self regulating, the puppy isn't allowed in the room with the food and is fed in her kennel on a schedule but I don't want to start an issue that isn't there. I refuse to give up on either of them and if it comes to crate and rotate so be it, wouldn't be the first time but hopefully you guys can help me out before it comes to that.
