EZ-Walk Harness Opinions?

samedi 21 février 2015

We've been using an EZ walk harness for Dakota for about 7 months to help with her pulling. It worked really well in the beginning, we were constantly working on actual training to help eliminate the problem as well, and for a little while we had perfect walks. Then suddenly it was like a switch flipped and she figured out how to progress her walks in a much more satisfying way for her. She started walking sideways so the front clip doesn't tighten. Anyways, we kept working on the additional training but she continued to pull when it suited her. I continued to use the EZ walk because it was a better option than her collar or a back clip harness.

Today we went to Pet Smart to work on some obedience with distractions and I noticed that it chafed her armpit pretty badly. It's nothing too serious but it looks painful. I thought it might have been because it no longer fit properly but the in house trainer told me that it's just going to chafe her and that'll help her stop pulling. (Great Advice from a "professional")

I'm wondering if any of you with pullers had any suggestions for better training harnesses. I want something that will help teach her pulling is not okay. I have started a new training method for the pulling that she seems to be responding well to.

Also just a sidenote, any suggestions on how to soothe the chafing under her arm?

Any suggestions are welcome!
