Hey guys, I just moved into a rental house in October and got the okay from the landlord to foster. My first foster dog, Coco, was dropped off to my house yesterday. She met my dog Jada outside and they seemed to get along fine. Then we took them out into the back yard and they kind of just ignored each other so I thought they would get along. When we came inside I sat down on the kitchen floor to pet Coco and Jada(my husband had her leashed) growled at her. So I stood up and walked away with Coco. We had them both in the same room on leash and everything was fine so i let them smell each other again and Coco tried to initiate play but Jada just kind of air snapped and walked away. Jada hasn't shown any DA yet but she's only 14 months old so I'm aware that it could happen at any time and I have no problem with that. I'm now doing the 2 week shut down with Coco and she's getting adopted sometime next week. But I was just wondering for future fosters who I may have long term - what kind of crate and rotate schedule should I do? I've been letting Coco run around in the kitchen for about an hour(she isn't completely house broken) and then switching and letting Jada out for an hour or so. Should I continue with that or do something different?
Also, if anyone else currently fosters or has fostered in the past - please let me know if you have any tips or advice. Thanks!
